Senior Automotive Technician

About Us:

Position Overview:
We are seeking an ambitious and highly skilled Senior Automotive Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for the automotive industry, with a proven ability to work unsupervised and lead a team effectively. This role requires exceptional mechanical, electrical, and electronic system diagnostic skills to diagnose, repair, and maintain primarily Ford & Mazda vehicles to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on Ford & Mazda vehicles.
  • Utilise diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve complex mechanical and electronic issues.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior technicians and apprentices, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards and in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of all repairs and services performed.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, providing clear and comprehensive explanations of necessary repairs and maintenance.
  • Adhere to established systems and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • WOF certified.
  • Qualified Automotive Technician with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead a small team.
  • Extensive knowledge of automotive systems and components, with a high skill level in mechanical, electrical, and electronic diagnostics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised, while also contributing to a team.
  • Valid Full Driver’s Licence.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
  • Ambition for career advancement to the next level.
  • Willingness to learn and engage in further training to meet brand standards.
  • Computer literacy and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Workshop Hand

Location: Kaitaia, Far North

Job Type: Full-time

Job Description:

We are looking for a motivated and hardworking Workshop Hand to join our team. The role is ideal for someone eager to gain hands-on experience in a busy workshop environment, with potential to progress in the automotive industry. You will be assisting technicians and performing a range of tasks to ensure the workshop operates smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Cleaning: Wash, clean, and maintain the appearance of vehicles before and after repairs, also vehicles on the yard.
  • Workshop Tidiness: Keep the workshop clean and organised, ensuring that tools and equipment are returned to their designated places.
  • Tool Maintenance: Clean and maintain workshop tools and equipment to ensure they remain in good working order.
  • Vehicle Movement: Safely move vehicles in and out of the workshop or between bays.
  • Waste Disposal: Manage the disposal of workshop waste, including oil, tyres, and other materials, adhering to safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Health & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment at all times.
  • Training & Development: Participate in ongoing training with the possibility of progression to basic vehicle services and mechanical duties.
  • Assist Technicians: Support technicians with various tasks, including handing tools, lifting heavy items, and preparing workspaces for repairs.
  • Tyre Fitting & Puncture Repairs: Perform tyre replacements, fittings, balancing, wheel alignment and repairs on a range of vehicles.
  • Basic Vehicle Maintenance: Assist with oil changes, fluid top-ups, and general vehicle inspections.

Requirements:

  • Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
  • Basic understanding of vehicles (desirable but not essential).
  • Full drivers license (preferred).
